Money has been a frequent topic of conversation at our house latley. The Bee is just starting to be interested in the concept of money and how much things cost. However I never actually have bills and coins, so teaching her about money has been a little tricky. To help with the coin concept we made our own coins out of bottle caps. I painted the caps different colors and then wrote the amount with sharpie. We used a juice carton for the bank, which I cut a slot into and the Bee painted. I am not sure how much it matters to her that the "coins" are different but she and the Bean have loved putting them into the slot.
