13) 4 Inspiring Books for Farmers Market Dinners

To help me get going on kicking the dinner rut and the start of our Farmers Market Tour, I found 4 books that are filled with great ideas and recipes to give me a little inspiration.

1) At The Farmers Market With Kids by Leslie Jonath and Ethel Brennan- This book had me at the title and when I got it I was delighted to discover it was as good as I wanted it to be. Filled with tons of recipes and kid related projects, the book is organized by season making it really easy to find recipes for all the ingredients you might find at the farmers market. There are also some great tips for cooking with kids and ways to get kids involved in each of the recipes!

2) Grow It, Cook It by DK Publishing- A kids gardening/cook book filled with recipes, tips and information. While this book is written for kids I found it very useful, each page included info about how to grow a vegetable followed up with a simple recipe using that fruit or vegetable. Beautiful photos and clear, simple writing make it very user friendly!

3) The Family Dinner by Laurie David- There are some cookbooks where you just know that no matter what you make from them it is going to be good and this is one of those cookbooks. Filled with tons of family friendly meals this book is also great for ideas and information about all things family and food. Also check-out the Family Dinner site for even more recipes, ideas and info.

4) Project Garden by Stacy Tornio- While mostly about gardening and planting with kids this book also has some, simple and easy recipes. Also organized by season it is easy to find recipes and information by ingredient.

Does anyone else have a favorite family friendly cookbook? Or a great farmers market inspired recipe?
